These are the occupational safety certifications Ulrich Cupido holds to do that safely and lawfully — each one SAQA-registered and issued through an accredited training provider.

Covers safe ladder, harness and roof-access technique — used on every rescue above head height, including tall-tree and roof jobs.

Basic Fire Fighting
Conduct Basic Fire Fighting — safe handling of hot equipment (smokers, torches) and how to respond if a rescue site situation turns into a fire risk.

Perform Basic Life Support and First Aid Procedures — for sting reactions, falls, or any on-site injury during a rescue or education session.

Why these three, specifically
- Working at Heights — several of our logged rescues have been 2–8+ metres up (roofs, tall oaks, a crane-assisted removal using a harness), so this isn't optional paperwork — it's the difference between a safe removal and a fall.
- Basic Fire Fighting — smokers and torches are open-flame tools used on almost every job; knowing how to handle and, if needed, contain a fire risk on someone else's property matters.
- Basic First Aid & Life Support — multiple bee stings can trigger a serious allergic reaction fast, and rescue sites are rarely close to a clinic. This certification means help starts immediately, not after we call someone else.
